“Without my awareness, any changes I may want to make are beyond my reach. With my awareness, the process of change has already begun.”

Acceptance and Choice Experience Workshop: look for the date late August

Cost: $25 for single workshop; $45 for both workshops; $5 discount for advanced registration
The Acceptance and choice workshop experience provides an opportunity to empower oneself by accepting all of one’s experience as valid and to accept experience for what it is in the moment. Students will have the chance to become aware of and notice the extent to which they are both accepting and non-accepting of themselves. Students will be guided to explore to what they say “yes” to and to what they say “no,” to deepen personal awareness and to explore compassionate self-acceptance.
Through “choice,” students will also have an opportunity through their yoga to explore choices—what informs choice, what qualities impact choice or if they choose.

“At any one moment, how I am being is my choice… my beliefs, my thoughts, my assumptions, my action, all my choices. It is entirely up to me how it is that I choose to build the next moment. In each choice lies an opportunity to choose differently.”

What is PRYT?

Phoenix Rising Yoga is a self-empowering hatha yoga practice developed by Michael Lee as an awareness-focused offspring of Kripalu and Bikram yoga styles and client-centered and gestalt psychotherapies. As other hatha yoga forms, Phoenix Rising Yoga includes warm-ups, breathwork, standing & floor postures, meditation and relaxation. PRYT requires no previous yoga experience.

PRYT yoga can offer opportunities for release, personal growth and healing, the depth of which is entirely within the one’s control. Phoenix Rising accepts the wisdom of one’s own inner knowing. Out of this knowing, we are more easily moved to embrace the opportunity for change, growth and enhanced well-being in body, emotions, thought, and spirit.

What makes phoenix rising yoga different from other forms of Hatha yoga?
• Participants are encouraged to keep eyes closed throughout class, providing an opportunity for inward focus. All postures are verbally cued to ensure safety. There is no “right or wrong” way to experience a posture or meditation. Students are encouraged to trust their own body-mind wisdom; instructors provide no visual demonstration.
• PRYT may include body-scan meditations and integration/life connection pieces.
• Students are encouraged to explore their own edges* and are therefore responsible for and can determine the depth of their experience.
• Students can empower themselves to increase awareness, heal and create change by making a connection between yoga experience and how they engage in their lives.

What can I expect from a PRYT experience?
• Guided Centering and meditation
• Posture Flow: warming up your breath/body; posture sequence accessible to ALL levels of yoga experience
• Integration & Self-Acknowledgment
• Closing/journaling, if desired

“Of all of my years of study, training and workshops, nothing has had a greater impact on my life, my relationships, my health and my work than yoga. I am so thrilled and honored to be not only continuing on my own yogic journey, but to now be able to share and engage with others in a new way of being with self, others and the world.

I believe in the whole person—working with mind and body as one. I trust that each of us is an authority on our personal truth, on our experiences and our needs. I am committed to facilitating opportunities for increased awareness so that each of us has an opportunity to better understand herself/himself and through that awareness incorporate self-acceptance and continued growth.”

I bow to and honor the wisdom and the divine within you…
